Hey Sailor - Blue & Black
If you’re planning on going on a boat, these socks are the obvious choice. But it’s very okay to fancy them whenever you want to feel good and look good at the same time.
Our Hey Sailor socks are made in Turkey from locally grown, ecological combed cotton for great durability, shape and fit.
Check out how The Band works here.
We have chosen a needle count of 168 for our Dress socks (compared to 158 in the Casual socks). This gives the sock a tighter weave and more elegant fit. Higher needle count means thinner yarn, and there are socks with an even higher number – but they also wear out much quicker. We believe this to be the best count for a thin and smooth sock that is ready for business.
The toe seam is “machine linked” which means an almost invisible seam that is more or less impossible to feel. We also use high quality polyester instead of regular polyamid as a strengthener in the Dress Socks. (It is also breathes a bit more than polyester.) The bands are high quality elastic bands from Japan.
Material mix socks: 80% ecological cotton, 17% Polyamide, 3% Elastan composition. Material mix band: 85% Polyester, and 15% Polyurethane.
All our socks are Oeko-Tex 100 certified.
Our socks can be washed in 40°, but we recommend using colder water (30°), which is gentler both to the environment and to the garment, and makes your socks last longer.(This would generally be true for all socks out there.)
As with almost all socks refrain from centrifuging or tumble drying your The Band socks. This may affect the elasticity and shape of the sock, and give rise to pilling.
All things that are good to keep in mind now that you will be able to use your socks longer as they will not lose its partner…
